Victim Assistance Coordinator

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office employs Victim Assistance Coordinators who are college graduates with experience in criminal justice or a related field. They are responsible for contacting all victims by mail as soon as possible after the District Attorney has accepted charges. The Coordinators assist victims with case status information and the completion of Victim Impact Statements, Crime Victims’ Compensation applications or Crime Loss Forms. They also provide referrals to social service agencies in the community and are available to answer questions about the criminal justice system.
