Statement from DA Ogg on bail reform settlement ruling

The following is a statement from Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg on U.S. District Judge Lee Rosenthal’s bail reform settlement ruling: 

“The judge made it clear, as we have said all along, that bail reform is important; it is now upon our elected judiciary to responsibly use the power the court has given them to ensure defendants show up in court and to protect the public from violent, high-risk offenders.”
