District Attorney Investigator dies after contracting COVID-19

January 13, 2021

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office is grieving the death of DA investigator Richard Sepolio, who died Wednesday after a battle with COVID-19.

“Rick dedicated his life to serving the public and keeping the community safe,” District Attorney Kim Ogg said. “We prayed for Rick when he went to the hospital, and now we pray for his family’s peace during this even more difficult time.”

Sepolio joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2013, after a long career with the Houston Police Department, much of which was served with the department’s gang unit.

He was most recently assigned to the 337th District Court. Funeral arrangements are pending.
